Research interest
Food safety: Identification of carryover potential of plant peptides, mycotoxins and bioactive compounds from plant-based aqua feeds to fish and thereby to access the potential health risk to consumers. Specially interested in working with fish health and welfare.
Bachelor degree in Fisheries Science from Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, (Cochin) India. Master’s in Fisheries Science with specialization in Fish genetics and Breeding from Central Institute of Fisheries Education, (Mumbai), under Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR). Research experience based on genetic study on orange spot inheritance in P. reticulata using microsatellite DNA markers and color quantification in the same using MATLAB analyzing tool. Currently pursuing doctoral study in Norwegian Veterinary Institute from 2017 April in the project ‘SafeFish’ under the supervision of Dr. Christiane Kruse Faste, of Toxinology Research Group.
